MUSTANG – Putnam City North dropped a 6-2 decision to Mustang Tuesday (April 23) to finish Class 6A District 2 play.

The Broncos took advantage of three errors in the first inning to score three runs for an early lead. Mustang added single runs in the second, fourth and sixth innings.

The Panthers (8-22, 3-11) got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning on a foul ball sacrifice fly from sophomore Gavin Lang which scored senior Cayden Swart. In the sixth, Swart doubled and advanced to third on a passed ball. He scored on another sacrifice fly from Lang, this time to left field.

Swart finished the day 2-for-3, scoring twice. Junior Aaron Wall went 1-for-3 with a double. Sophomore Owen Attebery added a 1-for-1 performance.

UP NEXT: The Panthers return home for the final time this season, meeting nearby Deer Creek Thursday (April 25) at 5 p.m.
