NORMAN – Putnam City North gained a big lead early and routed Norman North, 73-53, Friday (Feb. 9) in a Class 6A District 1 contest.

The Lady Panthers (17-5, 10-3) outscored Norman North (9-11, 6-7) by a score of 21-2 in the first quarter.

“We started off really hot and had great ball movement tonight.,” North coach Logan Martin said via text. ” (We had) very balanced scoring.”

North had three players in double figures. Senior Nevaeh Sanchez scored a game-high 18 points. Freshman Richiya Miller added 12 points, including a buzzer-beater 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter. Junior Nykaiya Dillard finished with 10 points.

Nini Geretta collected seven assists which Martin said helped the Lady Panthers start fast offensively.

UP NEXT: North finishes the regular season by hosting Moore Tuesday (Feb. 13). Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
