WARR ACRES — Putnam City earned a 17-3 run-rule win over Capitol Hill and the Red Wolves only recorded three outs total in three innings.
Capitol Hill didn’t record an out in either the first or second innings before the innings were ended early due to the lopsided score.
“The focus will always be to compete no matter the outcome and every now and then you might be in the right side of it,” Putnam City coach Joe Wood said via text. “Back at it again tomorrow.”
The Pirates (2-2) had eight hits, including four doubles and three triples. PC batters were hit by five pitches and walked six times.
On the bases, the Pirates logged 29 stolen bases.
Original earned a win by forfeit by Southeast in the scheduled opener but this was the Pirates’ first win on the field.
