
OKLAHOMA CITY — Western Heights opened the season with a 6-1 loss to Clinton Monday (March 2) in a 4A-1 contest.
The Red Tornadoes scored their six runs over the last three innings for the win, including a 3-run rally in the fifth inning.
The Jets took advantage of a leadoff error and walk to score in the first inning.
Senior Akin Aguillard drove in fellow senior Keziah Howell with a sacrifice fly to center to give Western Heights an early 1-0 lead.
The Jets had opportunities in every inning but one thereafter to increase the lead.
Sophomore Heyward Martin and senior Parker Kronk each had a single in the loss.
Kronk threw all five innings of the shortened game. He allowed six hits, six runs (three earned). Kronk walked two batters and struck out seven.
Clinton sophomore Jeter King walked four batters and struck out eight Jets for the win.

Western Heights travels to Clinton Tuesday (March 3) at 5 p.m. to finish the district series with the Red Tornadoes.
