NORMAN — Western Heights errors and a lack of hits led to an 11-1 loss to Community Christian Tuesday (Sept. 8).
The Jets committed nine errors in the loss and had just three hits.
Western Heights avoided the shutout in the second inning. Junior Aubrey Kerchee lined a single to center field. Later, Khamiyah Laster lined a single to right to score Kerchee.
Junior Natalia Martinez Vasquez followed with a double to left which moved Laster to third base. The two runners were stranded and the Jets didn’t get another hit.
Of the 11 runs allowed by Kerchee, only four were earned to due to the errors. Kerchee walked five batters and struck out seven.

The Jets will host 6A Putnam City West for a doubleheader Friday (Sept. 11) at 5 p.m.
The Patriots (1-13) lost a doubleheader to Sapulpa Tuesday. West meets Sand Springs Thursday before playing Western Heights.
