DEL CITY — Western Heights scored a pair of runs late but Del City earned a 9-5 win Friday (Sept. 5).
The Jets were held to five runs despite outhitting the Eagles 10-4.Western Heights left eight runners on base and had two innings end with baserunners running into outs.
Four Jets had two hits each in the contest, including freshman Scalet Jones, senior Ann Marie Bohnstedt, senior Khamlyah Laster and junior Natalia Martinez Vasquez.
Laster and Jones had doubles.
Junior Aubrey Kerchee took the loss. Only six of the nine runs she allowed were earned due to three Jet errors. Kerchee walked four batters and struck out seven.

The Royals (2-12) dropped a doubleheader to 3A-4 foe Marlow on Tuesday (Sept. 1), 7-0 and 17-0.
