YUKON — Putnam City North outhit Yukon but the Millers picked up a 3-1 win Thursday (April 30).

“It was a tough loss but it was really good to see our battle and there are a lot of positive things to take from it,” North coach Greg Johnson said via text. “Our pitching all around was excellent tonight. (Reece) Hubble had a good night offensively. All in all it was a good night, but not the result we wanted.”

The Panthers outhit Yukon 6-5 but committed three errors.

Hubble, a senior, was 3-for-3. Seniors JaQuari Dansby and Owen Attebery each had hits. Junior Treague Ferguson also had a hit.

Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, Ferguson walked with one out. He moved from first to third and Hubble’s single. Ferguson scored the North’s lone run on a Devin Orton’s groundout to second base.
