YUKON — Yukon poured on the runs in a 6A-1 doubleheader sweep of Putnam City West Monday (April 20).

YUKON 12, PUTNAM CITY WEST 0

The Millers scored big in the first two innings and had 13 hits. West managed only one hit, a single to center field by freshman Tylor Mason in the second inning.

Yukon senior Brayden Trogdon walked two batters and struck out 10 in the win.

West’s offense struggled despite scoring first in the loss.

Junior Aaron De Loera tripled to left field to lead off the game. De Loera scored on a balk. Senior Ezequiel Hernandez singled but was left stranded.

The Patriots had only one other baserunner. De Loera was hit by a pitch in the third inning but was thrown trying to steal second base.

Yukon senior Gentry Hoke struck out nine batters for the Millers.
