OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City West earned a 10-0 shutout win over Capitol Hill Friday (April 17).

The Patriots broke open a 2-0 game with six runs in the third inning.

Senior Ezequiel Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Junior Aaron De Loera added a 1-for-3 day with a triple and a run batted in.

Sophomore Malachi Ferguson and freshman Tylor Mason each went 1-for-3. Freshman Riley Axtel was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Senior Kasen Jones added a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

West batters walked four times and struck out only once.

On the mound, Axtell pitched four scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and two walks. He struck out four.

UP NEXT

Putnam City West (10-11, 1-6) opens a two-game 6A-1 series with Yukon (22-6, 8-2) Monday (April 20).

The Millers earned a 15-9 win over Enid Friday.
