
OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City West had six home runs in the Patriots’ 14-2 blowout win over 5A Harding Charter Prep Monday (April 6).
West’ Analicia Ramirez led off the bottom of the first inning with pop fly to left field which ended up being an inside-the-park home run. Kaydence Lopez, Aaliyah Lewis and Mia Nevarez followed Ramirez with inside-the-park homers. Later in the inning, Melody Whymann had an inside-the-park home run to center field and Ramirez sprinted around the bags for a second inside-the-park homer.
The Patriots banged out 16 hits in the three-inning run-rule win. Every player but one in the lineup got a hit.
Lopez and Lewis went 3-for-3. Ramirez, Whymann and Nevarez were each 2-for-3. Taylor Diaz and Shelby Taylor each had 2-for-2 days.
Lewis, Lopez and Diaz each had a double while Nevarez had a triple.
Lopez relieved Ramirez in the the first inning and scattered two hits over the next 2 2/3 innings. Lopez walked three batters and struck out two.

Putnam City West (6-2) travels to 5A Santa Fe South Thursday (April 9) at 4:30 p.m.
