
NORMAN — Putnam City was held to a lone hit in a 11-1 loss to Norman North Monday (April 6) in a 6A-3 contest.
The Timberwolves scored four runs in the both the first and second innings.
The Pirates avoided the shutout in the third inning. Sophomore Gabe Krueger singled to lead off the inning. Krueger went to second base on a passed ball, to third base on an error and scored on a groundout from junior Bryson Vanover.
Krueger’s single and dropped third strike to senior Brandon Bennett in the first inning were the Pirates’ only baserunners.
Norman North senior Terry Pursell struck out nine batters over three innings. Timberwolf senior Carson Walk struck out three batters over the final two innings.
