MCLOUD — Bethany juniors Brody McLaren and Connor Sydnes combined for eight hits and five runs batted in as the Bronchos routed McLoud 12-1 Tuesday (March 31) in a 4A-3 matchup.

McLaren went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run. He drove in two runs. Sydnes was also 4-for-5 with a double and a stolen base. Sydnes drove in three runs.

Freshman Jaden Rose added a 2-for-5 day and sophomore Cruz Burleson was 2-for-4.

Junior Cooper Willis picked up a double and two RBIs. Juniors Ozzie Brown, Cooper Suarez and freshman Maximus Loyd also had hits in the win.

In all, the Bronchos collected 16 hits.

On the mound, McLaren pitched a one-hitter over six innings of work. He allowed one unearned run. McLaren walked four batters and struck out eight. Suarez pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Suarez struck out two.

Bethany (9-4, 6-0) hosts John Marshall (0-5, 0-4) Wednesday (April 1) in a 4A-3 matchup.

On March 23, the Bears dropped a doubleheader at Purcell 21-0 and 17-0.
