
WARR ACRES — Putnam City West jumped on Northwest Classen early with seven runs in the first inning of a 12-2 win Thursday (March 12).
The game was played at Putnam City due to a wet field at West.
Sophomore Cadence Smith’s 3-run triple capped off the 2-out rally for the Patriots. West took advantage of four Knight walks and two batters hit by pitch.
Freshman Riley Axtell pitched all four innings of the shortened game. Axtell struck out seven batters and walked one. He allowed four hits. Both Northwest Classen runs were unearned.
Senior Kasen Jones went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in.
Junior Aaron De Loera and senior Ezequiel Hernandez each had a double.
