STILLWATER — Putnam City dropped its first two 6A-3 games in a doubleheader at Stillwater Monday (March 9).

The district series was played as a doubleheader due to forecasted severe weather on Tuesday.

STILLWATER 9, PUTNAM CITY 0

Stillwater jumped on the Pirates early with four runs in the first inning. Meanwhile, Pioneer sophomore CJ Allee pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings and held PC to two hits. Allee struck out five batters.

Original senior Mitchell doubled to left field in the first inning and Pirate sophomore MJ Petties singled in the third inning, both with two outs.

Stillwater senior Ethan Evans struck out 13 Pirates in a one-hit performance.

Junior Bryson Vanover doubled to left field with two outs in the sixth inning. Vanover also reached base earlier on an error.

Sophomore Damon Hopkins also walked once.

Senior Judd Quanstrom struck out six batters over six innings. He allowed five hits and earned runs. Quanstrom walked 10 batters.
