BIXBY— Bixby used big innings in both games of a 6A-4 doubleheader sweep of Putnam City North Monday (March 9)

The Panthers struggled at the plate and a 2-out rally for the Spartans in the sixth inning were too much for North.

Bixby took advantage of three walks, three singles and a double to score six runs in the in sixth.

Panther senior Quincy Robinson had North’s lone hit. Fellow senior Austin Guerrero and junior Treague Ferguson each walked.

After North scored eight runs in the third inning, Bixby answered with 12 runs in the fourth inning of a slugfest.

Trailing 2-0, the Panthers walked five times and had three singles in the 8-run inning.

Robinson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in.

Guerrero, Ferguson, senior Reece Hubble and JaQuari Dansby each had a hit. Dansby and Ferguson each doubled.

Ferguson’s double keyed a 3-run fifth inning for North to pull within three runs, 16-13.
