YUKON — Bethany had opportunities Thursday (March 5) but couldn’t push across a run against 6A Yukon. The Millers rode a big inning to an 8-0 run-rule win.

The Bronchos had baserunners in all five innings of the loss. Senior Karter Thomas led the game off with a double but was left stranded.

Bethany had four other hits and Broncho batters walked four times but Yukon’s Preston Klose had a strikeout pitch each time. The junior earned the win and struck out six batters in 4 2/3 innings.

The Millers broke open a 3-0 game with five runs in the fourth inning.

Thomas had a 2-for-2 day and walked once. Juniors Cooper Willis and Damyen Aguilar each had a hit. Junior Ozzie Brown had a pinch-hit single in the fifth inning.

The Bronchos used six pitchers in the loss. The group allowed nine hits and seven earned runs. They walked six batters and struck out two.

Bethany (2-1) hosts John Marshall Monday (March 9) at 5 p.m.

The Bears (0-2) dropped a doubleheader to Sulphur on Tuesday, 20-0 and 21-0.
