
BETHANY — Bethany junior Cooper Willis faced the minimum in a 3-inning perfect game Monday (March 2) as the Bronchos trounced Star Spencer, 22-0, in a 4A-3 contest.
Bethany collected nine hits and 13 walks in the run-rule win on opening day.
Senior Karter Thomas went 2-for-3 with a home run seven runs batted in.
Junior Brody McLaren went 3-for-3 with a triple, a homer and two stolen bases. He drove in four runs.
The Bronchos scored 15 runs in the second inning. Thomas hit a grand slam and McLaren hit a 3-run shot.
Willis added a double in the win. Junior Connor Syndes, freshman Jayden Rose and sophomore Cruz Burleson each had a hit.
Willis struck out all nine batters he faced over three innings. The Bobcats managed to make contact once for a foul ball.

The Millers opened the season with a 3-1 win over Norman at home.
