

OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City North cruised to a 71-45 rout over Muskogee Saturday (Feb. 28) to capture the 6A East Regional 1 title.
The Panthers built a double-digit lead early and had three players score in double figures.
Senior Nate Muriithi scored game-high 16 points. Muriithi also had seven rebounds and an assist.
Junior Miles Jackson followed with 14 points and four rebounds.
Fellow junior Mekhi Thomas returned the court after recovering from an injury with 12 points on four 3-pointers. Thomas also had a rebound and a steal.
Senior TJ McNeely had nine points, three rebounds and two assists.
TIP-INS
- Sophomore Keaton Murry scored seven points. He also had four rebounds and four assists.
- Fellow sophomore CJ Heskett added six points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Senior Malakye Schoats didn’t score but dished out four assists. He also had two steals and a blocked shot.
UP NEXT
North (26-1) faces Tulsa Union (21-5) Friday at 6 p.m. for the East Area 4 title. If the Panthers win, they earn a state berth.
The Redhawks beat Broken Arrow, 53-31, on Saturday.
