BETHANY — Bethany junior Camryn Regier dominated in the paint and scored 33 points in the Bronchos’ 72-18 win over Ardmore Friday (Feb. 13) to wrap up the regular season.

The eight-ranked Bronchos opened up a 22-5 lead after one quarter and Regier scored 10 of her points in the quarter.

Bethany coach Eric Sailer was pleased with the other players feeding the ball down low to Regier.

“She did a really good job of scoring the ball when she got it down low. Great ball movement, inside, outside, back to inside.”

Meanwhile the Bethany defense held the Tigers to single-digit scoring in both the first and second quarters and scoreless in the third quarter.

Regier was 14-of-21 from the field (67 percent). She had six rebounds, three assists and six steals.

Sophomore Kamryn Donley came off the bench and scored 15 points, 13 in the second half. Donley hit two 3-pointers. She was 5-of-10 from the field. Donley had four rebounds and a steal.

“She came in and gave us some good quality minutes and scored the ball when we needed it,” Sailer said of Donley.

Senior Reese Haris scored eight points, including a buzzer-beating trey to end the first quarter. She had two 3-pointers in the quarter. Harris was also named homecoming queen during a ceremony following the boys game.

The Bronchos shot 46 percent from the field but struggled from the 3-point line, shooting 27 percent.

“We didn’t shoot it as well as we did (against Clinton), but we still shot it okay,” Sailer said. “We’re shooting free throws very well.”

Bethany was 9-of-11 from the line.

The Bronchos outrebounded Ardmore 29-12. Bethany also collected 21 steals. Overall, the Tigers turned the ball over 27 times and shot 24 percent from the field.

Sailer was pleased to end the regular season with no injuries.

“Everyone needs to be healthy going into the playoffs to make a deep run.”

He also likes his team’s mentality entering the playoffs.

“I feel like we’re doing much better job of sharing the ball, moving the ball and finding better shots. When we become single-minded, you know, it’s easy to defend.
As long as we keep sharing the ball and finding those open looks, I think we’ll be okay.”

Bethany’s 20th win ensured a fourth straight 20-win season. During that span, beginning with the 2022-2023 season, the Bronchos have a 96-15 record. If you include the 2021-2022 season (when Bethany was 19-6), the record is 115-21 over a 5-year span.
