
OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City West held off a Norman North rally for a 75-65 win Tuesday (Jan. 13) in a 6A-1 matchup.
The Timberwolves stormed back in the second half after West had a 36-14 lead at halftime.
Norman North cut the West lead to eight points (70-62) with just under a minute remaining. The Patriots extended the lead with free throws.
Norman North’s Zane Phillips hit a 3-pointer with 9.5 seconds remaining to make it 73-65. The Patriots beat the press and West sophomore Miekyel Armstead scored a layup for the win.
Armstead finished with 16 points, seven in the fourth quarter.
Senior Quavion Wheeler added 15 points. Fellow senior Demetrice Carter followed with 14 points, including two treys.
Junior Andre Farrar scored 11 points.
Norman North sophomore Cam Collins scored a game-high 21 points, including 18 in the second half. Collins hit four 3-pointers.

West hosts Putnam City Friday (Jan. 16) at 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates (1-11, 0-6) fell to Lawton Eisenhower, 77-65, Tuesday.
