

HULBERT — Bethany captured the Lake Regional Electric Cooperative Hulbert Invitational title with a 53-41 win over 3A Westville Saturday (Jan. 10).
“Big win for our team!!!” Bethany coach Eric Sailer said via text. “This weekend was special, we had huge growing opportunities for our team.
“Different girls found a way to impact each game as the tournament went on. I was proud of how they all stepped up in huge moments during the tournament. Great team bonding and a great team victory!!!”
The Bronchos trailed 16-14 after the first quarter, were tied 20-20 at halftime and had a 35-32 lead after three quarters.
Bethany outscored Westville 18-9 to pull away for the win.
Junior Camryn Regier scored a game-high 23 points. Regier had a double-double with 15 rebounds. She had three assists, two blocked shots and three steals. Regier was 4-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
Senior Ali Linn added 10 points, eight in the second half. Linn had an assist, two rebounds and a steal. She had a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter rally.
Senior Maddison McNutt scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter on two big 3-pointers. McNutt had four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Senior Reese Harris scored all of her five points in the second half, including a fourth-quarter trey.
The Bronchos shot 32 percent from the field and lost the turnover battle, 19-17. However, the Bronchos outrebounded the Yellowjackets, 40-21.
Maddison McNutt was named the tournament’s MVP. Regier was named to the All-Tournament team. McNutt averaged 11 points a game and Regier averaged 19 points a contest during the tournament.

The 16th-ranked Tigers (5-7) beat Tahlequah 53-41, Saturday for third place at the Mother Road Classic in Verdigris.
