
LAS VEGAS — Putnam City North opened the Jerry Tarkanian Classic Friday (Dec. 19) with a 74-34 rout of Bay Area power Vanden (Calif.).
The Panthers (6-0) had four players in double figures and 10 players scored in the win.
Senior Jayla Constant scored a game-high 15 points, 11 in the first half. Fellow senior Tehlia Kutsoati added 12 points with two 3-pointers.
Senior Kiana Gray scored 11 points and had two first half 3-pointers. Senior D’Nae Jefferson followed with 10 points and two 3-pointers.
In all, North had eight treys in the win.
The Panthers held the Vikings to under 20 points in both halves (The contest had two halves, rather than four quarters.). Vanden had four players score six points to lead the Vikings.
North’s winning streak is now 27 games.

North faces Coronado (Nev.) Saturday (Dec. 20) at 6 p.m. (PST).
The Cougars (2-5) are a 5A school in Nevada (which is the highest classification in Nevada).
