ELGIN — Western Heights sprinted out to a double-digit lead in the first half and went on for a 67-30 rout of Elgin Tuesday (Dec. 16).

The Jets (7-2) led 46-11 at halftime after allowing a lone bucket in the second quarter. The game was Elgin’s opener as the Owls delayed the start of the season after the Elgin football team reached the 4A championship game Saturday.

Senior Cruz Bluitt paced the Jets with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Sophomore Darrian Black added 10 points, six of which came in the fourth quarter.

Senior Nick Henderson followed with nine points. Junior Zion Castaneda scored eight points with two treys.

UP NEXT

The Jets travel to 5A Lawton Friday (Dec. 19) at 7:30 p.m.

The Wolverines (3-1) suffered their first loss Tuesday with a 61-53 defeat by Carl Albert.
