
BROKEN ARROW — Putnam City North jumped out to an early lead and stayed unbeaten with a 58-43 win over Broken Arrow Tuesday (Dec. 16) in a 6A-1 contest.
North scored the game’s first 13 points en route to a 20-8 lead after one quarter. Broken Arrow cut the lead down to three points, 24-21, with 1:53 left in the second quarter.
Senior Kiana Gray sank a 3-pointer and the Panthers outscored the Tigers 7-1 to finish the half.
In the second half, North extended the lead to double digits in the win.
The win leaves the Panthers and Muskogee (4-0, 3-0) as the only unbeatens in District 3 play.
North’s winning streak is now 26 games with the win.
Senior Da’Nae Jefferson scored a game-high 16 points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Senior Jayla Constant added 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Fellow senior Paige Williams added 10 points and two assists.
Gray scored eight points, dished out two assists and grabbed three steals.

North travels to Las Vegas for the Tarkanian Classic.
The Panthers meet Vanden (Calif.) Friday (Dec. 19) at 3:20 p.m. (PST).
The Vikings are 4-2. Vanden is in Fairfield, California which is in the North Bay region of San Francisco/Bay Area.
Vanden won the Monticello Empire League last season with a 12-0 record, but fell in the second round of its Section Championship (similar to regionals) in Division I (similar to 6A).
