
BIXBY — Putnam City rebounded from a slow start to beat Ponca City, 64-49, Friday (Dec. 5) at the Bixby Invitational.
The Pirates (1-1) trailed by four points (16-12) after the first quarter and then held the Wildcats (0-4) to single digits in the second quarter to pull away.
“We started out sluggish in the first half due to it being an 11:30 game,” Putnam City coach Brian Booker said via text. “We challenged the kids at half and they responded well. The goal is to keep limiting turnovers. Hopefully we can continue that tomorrow.”
PC had two players in double figures. Senior ZaMarion Frost scored 18 points, with two 3-pointers. ZaMarion Frost scored all of his points in the second half.
Junior Myron Cooper added 15 points with three treys.
