After graduating several key players, Bethany is looking to a new group for the new season.

The Bronchos (19-9 a season ago with state tournament appearance) will also have a new leader as Joshua Holliday takes over for Brett Cannon.

“Outside of Denton Jaggers, we graduated every meaningful varsity minute,” Holliday said in a preseason questionnaire. “Our 2025 graduating class was a special group, but all they did is set the tone, and raise the bar for our programs standards.”

Holliday said there a lot of roles and minutes that will be “up for grabs.”

“As the season progresses I am excited to see where guys fall and how we will start to find our identity as a team.”

The aforementioned Jaggers (6’3″ guard/forward) is a senior and returns. Fellow senior Jagger Weaver (6’2″ guard/forward), Seth Greiner (5’10” guard), Landon Lote (5’10” guard) and Griffin Tarrant (5’10” guard) all return from last year’s squad.

Holliday notes the Lote is recovering from an injury.

“Every player that I mentioned above is technically a returner, and though they have little to none game experience, they have competed and battle against all the guys we graduated last year every day in practice.

The Bronchos’ newcomers are not necessarily new to the program but didn’t play many varsity minutes last season.

The young group includes junior Malachi Chatman (6’0″ guard/forward), junior Wyatt Keefer (5’10” guard), junior Braylen Wright (5’9″ guard), junior Conor Sydnes (6’3″ forward), junior Cody Martin (5’10” guard), sophomore Breck Brady (6’5″ forward), sophomore Dempsey Neal (6’1″ guard) and Rhett Brobston (6’2″ guard).

“This is a great group of young men that truly enjoy being around each other. I know many of them are itching to prove themselves, and I’m excited to see what they all do with the opportunity,” Holliday said.
