OKLAHOMA CITY — Bethany senior Paige Sechrist came within one out of a five-inning perfect game as the Bronchos routed Bishop McGuinness, 10-0, Friday (Sept. 19) to end a busy week of 4A-3 action.

Sechrist was perfect until McGuinness freshman Megan Milligan singled to right field for the first baserunner for the Irish. Sechrist got a groundout from the next batter to end the game.

Bethany coach Booker Blakley said he was “proud of (Sechrist’s) consistency. Really doing a good job of hitting her spots and taking control of each at bat,” Blakely said via text.

Sechrist struck out three batters in the contest.

While Sechrist was dominant in the circle, the Broncho bats stayed hot with 12 hits in the win.

Senior Madison Bibbs went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Juniors Jules Barger and Ella Davis each had two hits. Barger collected a double and a triple and Ella Davis homered to lead off the top of the fourth inning. Barger had three runs batted in and Ella Davis had two RBIs.

Senior Emma Buxton added a 2-for-2 day and scored a run.

Freshman Rian Rollins and junior Grey Williamson each had a hit. Williamson had a double.
