OKLAHOMA CITY — Northwest Classen quarterback Anthony Jones scored two touchdowns as the Knights shut out Western Heights, 20-0, for homecoming at Taft Stadium.
The senior scored on a quarterback sneak from one yard with 10:52 in the first quarter. He added another sneak midway through the third quarter.
After the first score, the Knights tried an onside kick and the Jets recovered it near midfield.
The Jets moved the ball inside the 5-yard line with their running game. The offense went backwards after that and they turned the ball over on downs to the Knights.
The Jets had another opportunity in the third quarter when freshman Kenan Towol intercepted a Jones pass and returned it to the Northwest Classen 17-yard line with 10:47 left.
Again, the offense went backwards and the drive fizzled.
On the ensuing possession, Jones scored again from a yard out. After a 2-point conversion, the Knights led 14-0 with 5:09 left in the third quarter.
The Jet offense struggled and a blocked punt and return for a touchdown by Knight senior Francisco Alvarado sealed the win with 9:58 left in the fourth quarter.
