WARR ACRES — Putnam City North won the mythical Putnam City Schools softball title Monday (Sept. 15) after cancellations led to the three schools deciding to face each other.
The three schools set up a tripleheader after games with schools from the Oklahoma City Public Schools fell through.
Overall, the Panthers went 3-0.
“The girls played together as a team and they were laser focused today,” Putnam City North coach D’Antae Mitchell said via text.
On Aug. 14, North beat West, 14-0. Up until Monday’s games, that was the only game scheduled in the regular season between the sister schools. Each school is in a different 6A district.
On Monday, North beat Putnam City, 16-5, and Putnam City West, 12-0. West bounced back with a 29-24 win in a slugfest over Putnam City.
