CLINTON — Bethany’s offense exploded for 14 hits, including eight doubles in a 8-2 win over Clinton Thursday (Sept. 11) in a 4A-3 contest.

Trailing 2-1, the Bronchos scored four runs in the third inning to take the lead that they never relinquished.

Junior Jules Barger was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and a run batted in.

Freshman Avery Bibbs was 2-for-2 with two doubles. She drove in two runs. Junor Ella Davis was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Senior Paige Sechrist was 2-for-5 with a double. Fellow senior Jayda Davis was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Senior Maddison McNutt was 1-for-3 with a walk. She drove in two runs. Junior Grey Williamson was 1-for-4 with a double. Williamson scored a run and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

In the circle, Jayda Davis scattered six hits over four innings for the win. She allowed two runs, walked two batters and struck out five. Sechrist pitched the final three innings. She didn’t allow a hit or run. Sechrist walked one batter and struck out six.

Bethany (8-9, 2-1) hosts Weatherford (7-7, 4-1) Friday (Sept. 12) at 4 p.m. in a 4A-3 matchup.

The Eagles won a district series with Bishop McGuinness, Weatherford beat the Irish 2-1 on Monday and 11-1 on Tuesday.
