MIDWEST CITY — Western Heights started fast in a 9-4 win over Community Christian Thursday (Sept. 4) in the Midwest City Festival.

A double in the first inning by Abbie Bise keyed a five-run inning.

Bise was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in. Jalesa Asimba added a 2-for-2 day with two runs scored. Khamiyah Laster’s triple in the third inning highlighted a 2-for-3 performance with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Ann-Marie Bohnstedt was 1-for-3 while driving in a run. Bohnstedt scored on Laster’s triple after reaching base on an error.

Asimba scattered eights over five innings. Of the four runs she allowed, only one was earned due to three Jet errors. Asimmba struck out three batters.
