EDMOND — Edmond Memorial banged out double-digit hits and runs in a 17-6 rout of Putnam City North in a 6A-1 matchup.

The game was moved to the turf field at Gerry Pinkston Stadium at the University of Central Oklahoma after heavy rains made the field at North unplayable.

The Bulldogs had 13 hits in the win and took advantage of seven North errors.

Memorial built a 6-0 lead into the third inning when North senior Jayda Stevenson homered to left field to lead off the third inning.

The Bulldogs scored in every inning but the first and added six runs in the seventh.

The Panthers score two runs in the sixth inning. Junior Laila Willoby reached on an infield error. Freshman KahMyla Clark ran for Willoby and sophomore Kayleigh Andrews doubled. Fellow sophomore Kaelyn Staden singled, scoring Clark and Andrews.

North staged a two-out rally in the seventh inning. Juniors Presley Standridge and Kayla Orton both reached on errors. Junior Savannah Martinez followed with a double to left field. Willoby followed with a single and Martinez scored on a passed ball to make it 17-6.

Martinez, Willobdy, Andrews, Staden Stevenson and freshman Amaya Frazier each had hits.

Edmond Memorial junior Lillian Stephens struck out 13 Panthers in the contest.

North makes the short trip to Deer Creek (5-4) Thursday (Sept. 4) at 6:30 p.m.

The Antlers fell to 5A Carl Albert, 8-1, Thursday. Deer Creek has lost four straight games.
