
WARR ACRES — Edmond Santa Fe scored nine runs in the second inning to blow open a one-run game en route to a 16-2 win over Putnam City Friday (Aug. 22).
The Wolves got on the board first with three runs in the first inning on a couple singles, a walk and two errors.
The Pirates answered back with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Senior Dahlia Hickerson led off the inning with a single. Junior Tess Goodner followed with a walk. Hickerson came around to score.
Junior Alexandra Hatlelid hit a fly ball in foul territory which scored Goodner for a sacrifice fly and Original trailed, 3-2.
Santa Fe blew past PC with five hits in the second inning. The Pirates also committed an error and the rout was on.
Hickerson’s single was the only hit Putnam City could muster.
