ENID — Putnam City North was routed twice Thursday (Aug. 21) by Enid, 14-1 and 27-0.
ENID 14, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 1
The Pacers scored six runs in the second inning in the rout.
Junior Laila Willoby had two doubles. Sophomore Kayleigh Andrews also doubled and fellow sophomore Kaelyn Staden singled.
Staden also drove in Andrews for the Panthers’ only run on a fourth-inning sacrifice fly.
Senior Peyton Edwards gave up 14 hits and nine runs (eight earned) in five innings. Edwards struck out five batters.
ENID 27, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 0
Enid poured in 13 runs in the first inning. The Pacers had 20 hits and took advantage of six Panther errors.
Andrews had North’s lone hit, a fourth inning single.
Of the 27 runs given up by North pitchers, only 10 were earned.
