

VERDIGRIS — Bethany’s volleyball reign in Verdigris reached its third year as the Bronchos won the Rumble at Route 66 title Saturday (Aug. 16).
On Saturday, Bethany picked up a 2-0 win over Tuttle (25-22, 25-13), a pair of 2-0 wins over Tecumseh (25-15, 25-17) and (25-20, 25-13) and another win over Tuttle, 2-1 (16-25, 25-14, 15-6).
On Friday, the Bronchos beat Inola, 2-0 (25-13, 25-20), Catoosa, 2-0 (25-16, 25-16), Cache. 2-0 (25-16, 25-19) and Oklahoma Bible Academy (25-14, 25-14).
Senior outside hitter Skylar Brady was named MVP of the event and fellow senior Maya McPhaul was named to the All-Tournament team.
With the win, Bethany (1-0) ran its winning streak to seventeen, including the end of its state championship season last year. The Bronchos’ last loss was Oct. 4, 2024.
