WEATHERFORD — Bethany fell in the final two games of the I-40 Classic Saturday (Aug. 16), losing to Tecumseh, 3-2, and Cache, 5-4.

TECUMSEH 3, BETHANY 2

The Bronchos couldn’t hold on to a 2-0 lead as the Savages scored three runs in the sixth and final inning for the win.

The Bronchos took the early lead on a two-run homer to left field by freshman Rian Rollins.

Junior Grey Williamson went 2-for-3 in the loss. Junior Jules Barger, senior Madison Bibbs, Rollins and senior Berkley Johnson each had a hit.

Senior Paige Seachrist held Tecumseh to four hits in the first five scoreless innings before the Savages broke through. Seachrist walked one batter and struck out nine.

CACHE 5, BETHANY 4

Cache scored four runs in the third inning and held off a Bethany comeback for the win.

Rollins led off the second inning with a single and went around the bases on a two passed balls with a Johnson sacrifice bunt in between.

The Bulldogs had six hits in the third inning, including three doubles to take a 4-1 lead.

The Bronchos got two runs back in the fourth on a Madison Bibbs homer to center field. Cache extended the lead to 5-3 in the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth, freshman Avery Bibbs scored on a two out double by senior Emma Buxton. Avery Bibbs entered the game for Seachrist, who reached on an error.

Buxton was 2-for-3 in the loss. Madison Bibbs, Rollins and Johnson each had a hit.

Cache tagged senior Jayda Davis for 11 hits. She struck out four batters.

UP NEXT

Bethany travels to 5A Guthrie Tuesday (Aug. 19). The Blue Jays are off to a 0-5 start. Guthrie lost to 6A Stillwater, 9-1, Friday.
