JENKS — Putnam City opened its season with a pair of losses to Jenks Thursday (Aug. 14). The Trojans won 14-0 and 19-4.
GAME 1: JENKS 14, PUTNAM CITY 0
Jenks scored 11 runs in the first two innings.
The Pirates collected four hits. Junior Samantha Tidmore went 1-for-2 with a double. Senior Dahlia Hickerson, freshman D’Najah Jarrell and Kamya Haynes each had a hit.
GAME 2: JENKS 19, PUTNAM CITY 4
The Trojans scored 11 runs in the first inning with a home run and 10 walks in the rout.
The Pirates’ Tidmore led off the bottom of the inning with a single. She stole second and third base before Hickerson grounded out and Tidmore scored.
Putnam City got three runs in the third inning. After two walks led off the inning, Hickerson tripled to right field. She scored when junior Tess Goodner lofted a sacrifice fly to center field to make it 19-4.
