OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City North thumped rival Putnam City West, 14-0, Thursday (Aug. 14).

The Panthers (1-3) banged out 11 hits. Seniors Jayda Stevenson and Peyton Edwards combined to toss a three-inning no-hitter.

It was the only Putnam City Schools fast pitch softball rivalry game on the schedule this season.

Putnam City isn’t scheduled to play North or West in the regular season.

North jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. Junior Presley Standridge led off the game with a triple. Stevenson and freshman Amya Frazier both homered in the inning.

North added five more runs in the second inning. Edwards led off the inning with a double. A West error and two passed balls gave North another big inning.

Stevenson was 2-for-2 with a run scored, two runs batted in and walk. Senior Mikala Coats was also 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.

Frazier drove in four runs on a 2-for-2 day. She also stole two bases.

Standridge and junior Kayla Orton each had a hit. Fellow junior Savannah Martinez contributed a double to the big offensive day.

Stevenson struck out six batters in 2 1/3 innings. She walked two batters. Edwards got the last two outs and struck out one batter.

“The girls are starting to figure things out,” North coach D’Antae Mitchell said via text. “(They) are working really hard to clean up mistakes from the last game vs Choctaw.”

For West (0-1), Dakariha Montgomery and Reggan Amador each walked in the opener for the Patriots.
