Here are some updates on West Metro Sports, which is beginning its second full school year. (I started it in November 2023).

1. You can promote your business and support local high school sports coverage in the West Metro of Oklahoma City by buying advertising (like the banner ad below). Email me at joel@westmetrosports.com or click here.
2. The West Metro Weekly column is now called West Metro Huddle. I was unable to keep up a weekly schedule with all the other work (and my main day job).
3. You’ll notice some slight changes to the boxscores and line scores this year. I have tried to include first names of every athlete in the boxscore, even if they don’t make it into the article. I also include the non-West Metro opponent athlete’s names because they played in the game as well.
   Unfortunately, I’m spending too much time tracking down first names since some rosters are incomplete or incorrect. So, I’m going with last names only in boxscores (which is standard for most newspapers). If there are two athletes with the same last name, a first initial will be used. As always, athletes are referred to by their full name on first reference in articles.
4. I’m still waiting on some responses from a few coaches on fall preseason questionnaires. I’d love to highlight these athletes in teams with a preview article. If you have any questions, please let me know.
