
CHICKASHA — Putnam City North had two individual athletes and a relay team qualify for the Class 6A State Track Championship when they competed at the regional held at Chickasha Saturday (May 10).
The Panthers’ 4×100-meter relay team earned a berth at state by finishing third in the regional with a time of 44.15. The relay team is comprised of senior Nate Pough, freshman Bryan Randolph, freshman Jaelen Taylor and sophomore Christon Starks.
In girls action, junior Maddison Keeton qualified for state in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished third in the regional with a time of 16.35.
Junior Toni Ibarra punched her ticket to state in the 400-meters event. Ibarra finished second with a time of 1:01.22. She was just behind Norman’s Maddie Card, who ran the event in 1:01.13.
As a team, the North boys finished seventh with 12 points. The girls squad landed in eighth with 22.5 points.

The Panthers will compete Friday and Saturday (May 16-17) in the state meet at Western Heights.
