KINGFISHER — Bethany’s boys golf team finished third at the Class 4A Golf Regional at Kingfisher Wednesday (April 30). The Bronchos qualified as a team for the state tournament for the fifth-straight season.

The squad, which featured all seniors, beat the school record for a low score in the first round with a 292, according to Bethany coach Ryley Claborn.

Claborn said via text that from after the first round, the team “just hung on to be able to punch our ticket to the State Tournament!”

Landon Hess paced the team by shooting a 144 (70-74). Jackie Payne shot a 145 (70-75). Garrett Johnson shot a 154 (76-78). Will Walstad finished with a 155 (76-79). Wyatt Geissler added a score of 156 (76-80.)

Bethany will compete in the 4A State Tournament May 12-13 at Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club in Ardmore.
