EDMOND — Edmond North used big innings en route to a pair of blowout wins over Putnam City West, 11-1 and 12-4, Monday (April 28) in a 6A-1 series.
EDMOND NORTH 11, PUTNAM CITY WEST 1
The Huskies scored seven runs in the second inning in the rout.
The Patriots took the lead in the first inning after sophomore Jarin Hoff reached on an error, scoring freshman Cadence Smith (who led off the game with a walk).
West managed only two hits, singles by Smith and sophomore Aaron De Loera.
Edmond North senior Isaac Worden struck out nine Patriots in the contest.

The Huskies turned a back-and-forth game into a rout with 11 runs over the final three innings.
Senior Nathan Vann gave West a third inning lead with a steal of home to make it 1-0. The Huskies answered in the fourth inning to make it 1-1.
West senior Mike Vess grounded into a a double play in the fourth which scored freshman Malachi Ferguson (who was hit by a pitch).
The Patriots scored two more time in the fifth inning on a passed ball and Edmond North’s lone error to make it 6-4.
The Huskies scored six runs in the seventh to put the game away.
Vann finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Smith, De Loera, Hoff and senior Luis Enriquez each had a hit in the loss.
Edmond North pitchers combined to strike out 10 batters.
