LAWTON — Putnam City split a non-district 6A doubleheader with Lawton Eisenhower, losing 10-7 and winning 2-1, Friday (April 25).
LAWTON EISENHOWER 10, PUTNAM CITY 7
Freshman MJ Petties went 3-for-4 and the Pirates rallied for three runs in the seventh inning but lost to the Eagles.
Petties scored two runs and drove in two more. He also had a double and stole a base.
Senior Connor Fast was 2-for-4 for the game. Sophomore Jared Potter and freshman Damian Hopkins each had a hit.
Senior JT Twillie walked twice and stole five bases.
Ike scored nine runs over the second and third innings for the win.

Fast threw a seven-inning three-hitter and the Pirates walked off the hosts in the second game.
Fast allowed one run (which was unearned). He walked two batters and struck out nine.
Trailing 1-0, in the bottom of the seventh, Original tied the game on an RBI-single from junior Brandon Bennett, which scored Potter, who had been hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Chase Guethle bunted to Ike pitcher Charlie Trachte on a squeeze play and freshman Caden Goodwin scored to win the game.
Besides Bennett’s hit, PC got hits from Fast, Petties, Goodwin as well as Guethle’s bunt single.

The Antlers (18-13, 6-5) won 2-of-3 from Kansas schools Thursday and Friday (April 24-25) at the River City Baseball Festival in Lawrence, Kan. Deer Creek beat Lawrence, 6-3 on Thursday, and Olathe East, 3-2 on Friday, before losing to Lawrence Free State, 2-1 on Friday.
