BETHANY — Bethany used a five-run fifth inning to beat Bishop McGuinness, 7-2, Tuesday (April 22) in the Bronchos’ final 4A-4 contest of the season.

The five-run inning broke a 2-2 tie. Bethany had four hits and a walk in the inning. Senior Andrew Taber highlighted the outburst with a three-run home run over the right field wall.

Senior Charlie Tolle was 2-for-4 with a run a scored and and a run batted in. Fellow senior Brock Cross went 2-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Juniors Judson Gilliland, Karter Thomas, seniors Joe Berry and Taber each had a hit.

Thomas led off the fourth inning with a solo home run over the center field wall.

Senior Layton Reither scattered eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. Reither struck out eight batters and walked none. Cross followed with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless and hitless relief, striking out three batters.

UP NEXT

The Bronchos finish the regular season at Mount Saint Mary Friday (April 25) at 5 p.m in a 4A non-district game.

The Rockets (21-8) beat Oklahoma Christian School, 9-5, Tuesday.
