
SHAWNEE— Putnam City North split two games on day two of the Bill Tipton Classic. The Panthers beat 5A Del City, 15-8, and lost to Norman, 4-3 in eight innings, Friday (April 11) at Shawnee.
PUTNAM CITY NORTH 15, DEL CITY 8
The Panthers banged out 16 hits in a slugfest win over winless Del City.
Senior Rocco Carattini went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Junior Xavier Sarkey added a 3-for-3 game with a double and two RBIs.
Junior Quincy Robinson, senior Junior Garcia and senior Jessie Aaron each had two hits.
Juniors Austin Guerrero, Gavin Lang and JaQuari Dansby each had a hit in the win.

North led for the for first six innings but the Tigers tied it in the seventh inning and won it in the eighth inning.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning after Norman starter Tehan Kim hit the first three batters he faced. He then walked North senior Atticus Duffy Relf. Another senior, Geoffry Schmid, drove in the second run with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Neither team scored until the seventh when the Tigers tied the game with a Panther error, a double and a single, all with two outs.
In the eighth inning, back-to-back triples, followed by a sacrifice fly gave Norman a 4-2 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning, Guerrero singled then reached third base on a pickoff throw error. He scored on a sacrifice fly from Robinson.
Duffy Relf followed with a double. Schmid flied out for the second out and Duffy Relf tagged up and headed to third base.
Sophomore Treague Ferguson then worked a walk to put the tying run on base.
Senior Aaron Wall hit a line drive to center field but Tiger junior Preston Baublit caught it to end the game.
The Panthers managed three hits in the loss. Guerrero, Duffy Relf and Schmid each had a hit.
