SHAWNEE — Another day, another no-hitter for Bethany pitching.

Two days after Broncho senior Layton Reither no-hit Woodward, fellow senior Levi Moore tossed a three-inning perfect game against 5A Del City, 12-0, Thursday (April 10). Bethany followed with a 6-2 loss to 5A Noble on the first day of Carl Albert’s Bill Tipton Classic.

Moore struck out five of the nine batters he faced in the shortened game. Of the four Del City batters who hit the ball in play, only one batter hit it out of the infield.

The Broncho offense exploded for eight runs in the second inning.

Junior Karter Thomas, senior Joe Berry, senior Preston Orton, senior Brock Cross, sophomore Cooper Willis and sophomore Brody McLaren each had a hit in the win. Willis and Thomas had doubles and Orton drove in two runs.

NOBLE 6, BETHANY 2

The Bears scored five runs over the last three innings to get past the Bronchos.

Bethany scored single runs in the first and second innings on junior Judson Gilliland’s steal of home and bases-loaded walk to take a 2-1 lead.

Noble (14-6) re-took the lead with single runs in the third and fourth innings. In the fifth inning, a two-out rally led to three runs to pull away.

Gilliland went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run batted in.

Thomas, Berry, Moore, Cross and Reither each had hits in the loss.

Thomas stole two bases and Gilliland swiped a bag.

Willis took the loss, allowing eight hits and five runs (four of which were earned) over 4 1/3 innings. Willis walked one batter and struck out five.

Cross pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief. Cross gave up two hits and one unearned run, walking one and striking out three batters.
