BETHANY — Bethany scored seven runs in the first inning and senior Layton Reither tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 rout of Woodward Tuesday (April 8) in a 4A-4 contest.

The Bronchos (15-3, 7-2) walked three times and collected three singles in the opening outburst. Woodward starter Manny Banuelos also hit two batters and the Boomers committed an error in the big inning.

Reither walked two batters and struck out four in the win.

Senior Charlie Tolle went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an run batted in. Fellow senior Andrew Taber also went 2-for-3. Taber scored twice and drove in a run.

Seniors Joe Berry, Levi Moore, sophomores Cooper Willis and Brody McLaren each had a hit. Willis drove in three runs and McLaren had a double.

Junior Judson Gilliland drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Gilliland also stole a base.

The Bronchos will play in the Bill Tipton Classic hosted by 5A Carl Albert. Bethany faces 5A Del City (0-15) Thursday (April 10) at 10 a.m. at Shawnee. They will then play 5A Noble (12-6) at 12:30 p.m.

The Eagles dropped a doubleheader to John Marshall, 16-0 and 8-0, Tuesday.

The Bears blanked Guthrie, 10-0, Tuesday.
