WARR ACRES — Putnam City West scored six runs in the first inning of a 12-0 rout of Destiny Christian Friday (April 4) at Dawgz of the South tournament hosted by Santa Fe South at Putnam City.

West (4-9) racked up eight hits and took advantage of five Wildcat errors.

Sophomores Alex Jimenez and Aaron De Loera each went 2-for-3. Each player scored twice and drove in two runs. Jimenez had a double in the win.

Senior Nathan Vann, sophomore Jarin Hoff, senior Marshall Byars and junior Ezequiel Hernandez each had a hit. Hernandez also drove in two runs.

The Patriots stole six bases in the contest.

Freshman Cadence Smith allowed just one hit in three innings in the shortened game. Smith walked two batter and struck out two.

UP NEXT

West (4-9, 2-4) hosts sister school Putnam City North (1-16, 0-6) for a 6A-1 contest Monday (April 7) at 5 p.m.

The Panthers fell to Choctaw, 7-5, Thursday.
