OKLAHOMA CITY — Guthrie stayed perfect for the season, scoring seven runs in the first inning of a 13-0 rout of Western Heights Monday (March 31) in a 5A-1 matchup.

The Blue Jays (12-0, 7-0) have five singles and took advantage of three Jet errors to start the game.

In all, Guthrie 12 hits and Western Heights committed six errors.

The Jets (5-10, 0-7) managed just three hits in the loss and struck out seven times.

Senior Jacob Bohnstedt, junior Akin Aguillard and freshman J.J. Bradley each got a hit.

Senior Caden Wiebusch took the loss after pitching 3 2/3 innings. Wiebusch allowed nine hits and nine runs, of which three were earned runs due to the errors. He walked one batter and struck out three batters.

UP NEXT

Western Heights hosts 3A Anadarko (3-11) Thursday (April 3) at 5 p.m.

The Warriors won a doubleheader from Star-Spencer Monday, 14-0 and 15-0.

The Jets will travel to Guthrie to finish the 5A-1 series Saturday (April 12) at 12 p.m.
