WARR ACRES — Putnam City split its games Thursday (March 27) on the opening day of the Bryson Cael Memorial Festival.
SANTA FE SOUTH 8, PUTNAM CITY 3
The Saints took advantage of four Pirate errors and built an 8-0 lead after three innings.
Senior Connor Fast went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Freshman MJ Petties went 1-for-3 and scored. Senior JT Twillies scored as well with a 1-for-2 day.
Sophomore Jared Potter and junior Brandon Bennett each had hits in the loss.
On the mound, Fast allowed six hits and eight runs (three earned) over five innings. Fast walked three batters and struck out three.

The Pirates rebounded with a rout over winless Del City.
PC took advantage of five Del City errors, seven walks and collected six hits.
Sophomore Bryson Vanover, senior Lukas Poindexter, Andrew Simon, Petties, Potter and Bennett each had a hit.
Bennett scored two runs and drove in two more. Bennett had a triple in the win.
On the mound, Vanover allowed two hits and an unearned run over four innings. Vanover walked one batter and struck out eight.

The Pirates play Bethany for the second time this season in a 6:30 p.m. matchup Friday (March 28) at Pirate Field for the festival finale.
On Thursday, the Bronchos routed Del City, 22-0, and beat Santa Fe South, 8-0.
Bethany beat Putnam City, 12-4, in the season opener for both schools on March 1.
